Step into the sublime motion of life.

there's something within the sublime motion,
which screams to the human indifference.

and to discover the soul's other purpose,
the beauty of truth must be followed through fire.

Of Gardettos and After School Specials.....

So while I know this has been a long time coming at least it's finally here right?

So anyways, this post is for Kayle, without whom much of my entries wouldn't exist. Back in March we made a small trip to Denver for one of the best occasions I can think of, and that is the wondrous anniversary of my dear friend Kayle's birth. Much of our trip revolved around plans to attend the Coors Brewery Tour and drink free beer, which we were successful in accomplishing. The tour itself was fun and I think I will post a short video to accompany this entry, of part of the tour. The best part though was the tasting lounge after the tour. So while Kayle, myself and her boyfriend Mitch drank our beer and discussed many life changing subjects, Kayle and I ran into a dilemma of sorts. While standing in line, holding a beer, how does one open a bag of gardettos with one hand? Fortunately Kayle and I are usually on similar wavelengths and we each grabbed one side to open it. Now while this story has the potential to end hilariously we were skilled enough to not explode the bag all over those people around us. So while it is slightly more tame than was possible I would like to point out the strength of character it takes to go forward with such a delicate operation in the face of possible disaster. Needless to say the rest of our time at the brewery was very entertaining as well.

After leaving the brewery we ran into what was probably one of the most hilarious moments of the entire trip. While driving back into Denver, Kayle was speaking on the phone with Mitch's sister who was trying to figure out our plans for dinner. Eventually Mitch's sister didn't want to impose on Kayle's birthday activities and decided not to come out with us. It was at this point that our lives transformed into an after school special vaguely reminiscent of "Saved by the Bell."
It was because at that precise moment that Kayle was heard uttering the words, "I want you to know you're not just my boyfriend's sister, you're my friend too." Now I'm perfectly aware of how cheesy those shows now seem and of the size of the writing teams it took to write lines like the one above. I just had no idea that real people spoke like that. So of course after that Mitch and I would not let her live it down. It quickly became, "Mitch I want you to know you're not just my friend's boyfriend, you're my friend too." or "Paul I want you to know you're not just my girlfriend's friend, you're my friend too." We found no end to the hilarity that it had inspired. So for anyone out there who loves a good after school special I just want you to know that real life can be just as full of cheesy lines and meanningful lessons.

With that being said I should definitely cut this off now before it becomes a novel. Good day to you all, Zombie Monkey wishes you the best. ;)
